The joint is the whole game
Combination frames are where mid-tier factories quietly drop out. The acetate front shrinks at a different rate than the metal temple under temperature change; if the joint is not designed with that in mind, the frame loosens within a season.
We design the joint first and the silhouette second — specifying the insert geometry, adhesive and mechanical pin together. It costs us more tooling time. It is why our combination line has the lowest return rate of the three.
Send us a drawing or a reference sample. We will come back with a tooling route and a price — not a request for more information.

- Joint
- Mechanical pin plus structural adhesive, tested to 500-cycle flex
- Material
- Cellulose acetate with stainless steel, monel or titanium

Existing tooling
Nine shapes you can build on
These moulds already exist. Starting from one cuts tooling cost and lead time — useful for a first season. Any of them can be re-coloured, re-sized or re-branded.
Metal front / acetate temple
Browline / acetate brow + wire rim
Round / metal rim + acetate temple
Square / thick acetate + flat metal
Cat-eye / split material
Aviator / acetate brow bar
Geometric / mixed frame
Slim rectangle / hidden joint
Photography pending. Each card will carry five shots: front, 45°, side, temple interior, packaging.

Need something outside these shapes?
Most of our work starts from a designer's own drawing rather than a catalogue page. Send the artwork in AI, PDF or DXF and we will return a tooling assessment within two working days.
